re Questions about visiting

I'm planning a weekend visit in May to Victoria. Can anyone recommend a nice place to stay and some fun activities to do? It's for a special occasion so I'd like to stay someplace nice, but not break the bank doing so.

I've looked at several web sites and know that I don't want to spend the entire weekend in a mad rush, but don't want to spend it sitting in a hotel room either.

Is the Craigdarroch Castle or Hatley Castle worth visiting? Do the seals really eat from your hand at the fisherman's wharf? Is the ghost tour worth taking or just silly? Are there must see places? Dinner theater?

What about dining? Are there places to avoid? I enjoy a good steak, or fresh seafood, but even Italian is fine.

Any suggestions would be most appreciated!
